Rock Castle’s 9th Annual Bluegrass Jam returns to Historic Rock Castle in Hendersonville, Tennessee, on September 25 and 26 with two days of bluegrass, lakeside scenery, and a particularly strong Friday night for Grateful Dead fans.
Friday’s lineup includes The Dirty Grass Players, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, and The Del McCoury Band, with the music continuing after the main festival with a special Grateful Ball featuring The Travelin’ McCourys. The 21-and-up after-party begins at 9:45 p.m. in the Rock Castle Woodlands and features a private Grateful Dead tribute set from The Travelin’ McCourys.
The Del McCoury Band is scheduled to close the main Friday program from 8:10 to 9:30 p.m., following Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice and The Dirty Grass Players. The Grateful Ball then keeps the night moving, with music beginning at 10 p.m.
Saturday brings another full afternoon and evening of bluegrass, with DownRiver Collective, Henhouse Prowlers, Lonesome River Band, and The Travelin’ McCourys. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, while Friday gates open at 3:30 p.m.
The setting is part of the draw. Historic Rock Castle hosts the festival along the lakeside grounds in Hendersonville, and organizers describe the event as family-friendly, with children five and under admitted free to the main festival.

Advance one-day tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-12. Two-day advance tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children. The Grateful Ball is $55 in advance, while the Castlegrass Pass includes both festival days plus the Grateful Ball for $75.
