Piedmont Stomp Music Festival Debuts in Georgia November 21-22

GOOD HOPE, GA –– Piedmont Sound, a North Georgia-based recording company dedicated to creating homegrown music that authentically reflects the unique influences of the region, is dreaming up a new kind of live music experience with the inaugural Piedmont Stomp Music Festival, taking place November 21-22, 2026 at The Portico in Good Hope, Georgia.

Featuring performances from Pony Bradshaw, T. Hardy Morris, Cicada Rhythm, Spencer Thomas, Rachel Baiman and several others, Piedmont Stomp will bring together artists and music lovers for an intimate weekend rooted in top tier live music, deep connection, and a singular sense of place.

The festival will take place at The Portico, a 60-acre property along the Apalachee River that has served as a creative home and recording space for Piedmont Sound in recent years. Rather than simply bringing a festival to a venue, Piedmont Sound is inviting audiences into a place that has become part of the company’s own musical story.

“We wanted to gather some of our favorite artists and their fans to share the magic of this beautiful space that we’ve been using as our recording studio for the last few years,” says Ryan Moore of Piedmont Sound. “The property sits on 60 acres along the Apalachee River and the sights, smells and sounds make you feel like you were plopped right in the middle of a song.”

At the heart of the festival is The Portico itself, a restored former country church built in 1868. The historic building has since been lovingly reimagined as an intimate gathering space for music, retreats, weddings, community events, and is now the home of Piedmont Sound’s recording studio and creative headquarters. In addition to recording services, Piedmont Sound produces high-quality live video performances for artists, creating polished visual assets designed to extend the life of a song. From the beginning, the company has approached its work with a focus on supporting artists beyond the soundboard. Piedmont Stomp brings that philosophy full circle, serving as a showcase of artists who have worked with Piedmont Sound while creating a rare opportunity for those artists to connect with fans in an intimate setting built for genuine interaction.

The festival is also a natural extension of the relationship Piedmont Sound has developed with The Portico’s owners, Lee Moody and Amy Barber, whose stewardship of the property has helped create the environment that made Piedmont Stomp possible.

“The Portico is one of those places that you can tell is special as soon as you walk onto the property,” Moore says. “Owners Lee Moody and Amy Barber are some of the most thoughtful people around and they do everything to make the space inviting. Being a long-time musician himself, Lee has always wanted to fill The Portico with great music.”

That sense of intimacy and intentionality is at the center of Piedmont Stomp. The festival’s inaugural edition is made to feel like a carefully curated, deeply personal gathering where The Portico and its rich regional history become part of the experience itself, bringing artists and fans together in a setting that is both storied and ever-evolving.

Proceeds from the event will support Nuci’s Space, the Athens-based nonprofit dedicated to providing resources and support to musicians and music professionals. The partnership reflects Piedmont Sound’s broader commitment to supporting the artists behind the music, while bringing greater visibility to the challenges facing working musicians across the region.

“It’s really tough out there for musicians,” Moore says. “Our goal is to support and lift up our artist community, and Nuci’s Space has been a staple for providing musicians’ resources in the Athens area for a long time. It was important for us to partner with them to bring awareness to the challenges working artists face, and to show solidarity in supporting that mission. They are a huge part of what keeps the legendary Athens music scene alive today.”
