Fresh off a monumental hometown performance celebrating one of the most defining moments in New Orleans history, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue announce their 2027 Shorty Gras Tour, bringing the unmistakable sound and celebratory spirit of New Orleans to stages across the country next February. The 12-date run kicks off February 12 in Lincoln, NE, making its way through the Midwest and South with stops in Kansas City, Detroit, St. Louis and more before wrapping February 27 in Memphis, TN. Acclaimed turntablist DJ Logic will join as special guest on select dates.
The announcement comes on the heels of an unforgettable performance at the Caesars Superdome on October 5 for Monday Night Football broadcasted live on ESPN, where Trombone Shorty led a star-studded halftime celebration commemorating the 20th anniversary of the New Orleans Saints' historic return to the stadium following Hurricane Katrina. Joined by his powerhouse band Orleans Avenue alongside special guests Eric Church, Kirk Franklin, Juvenile, Cyril Neville and Ivan Neville, Shorty helped honor a moment that transcended football, when the Saints' 2006 homecoming became a powerful symbol of New Orleans' resilience and rebirth. The nationally televised performance brought the city's musical heritage to the forefront, uniting generations of hometown talent in a celebration of the culture that continues to define New Orleans.
For Trombone Shorty, born Troy Andrews and raised in New Orleans' historic Tremé neighborhood, the city's musical traditions have shaped a career that has taken him from neighborhood second-line parades to international stages. Now one of New Orleans' most recognizable musical ambassadors, Shorty continues to carry that legacy forward through Shorty Gras, bringing the infectious energy of Mardi Gras to audiences far beyond Louisiana. Backed by his powerhouse band Orleans Avenue, Shorty transforms that hometown spirit into a high-octane live experience where brass-fueled funk meets soulful grooves and jazz improvisation. The result is less a traditional concert than a full-fledged New Orleans street party, capturing the communal joy and spontaneity that have defined the city's music for generations.
A GRAMMY-winning musician and dynamic bandleader, Trombone Shorty has become a singular force in contemporary music, bridging the rich traditions of New Orleans with a genre-defying approach that continues to resonate with audiences worldwide. Whether commanding the stage at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, collaborating with some of music's most celebrated names or bringing his hometown's sound to national television, Shorty remains deeply connected to the community that raised him. With the 2027 Shorty Gras Tour, he once again invites audiences across the country to experience the exuberance of New Orleans firsthand.
Artist presale tickets begin Wednesday, October 14 at 10 AM local time, followed by local presales on Thursday, October 15 at 10 AM local time.
