Shakedown Citi, Love, Reggae and Roots Music Fill Sweetwater’s Fall Calendar

Deadheads, roots music fans and lovers of psychedelic rock have plenty to circle on Sweetwater Music Hall’s fall calendar. The intimate nonprofit venue in Mill Valley welcomes Shakedown Citi on November 15, The Seeds with Daryl Hooper and Love with Johnny Echols on November 20, and Freestone Peaches’ Allman Brothers tribute on November 21, alongside reggae, funk, bluegrass and singer-songwriter performances throughout October and November.

Shakedown Citi brings its celebration of the Grateful Dead’s music to Sweetwater for an 8 p.m. show November 15. Fans looking for another evening built around an enduring songbook can catch Freestone Peaches the following Saturday, while the November 20 pairing of The Seeds and Love offers a night of garage rock with DJ Sid Presley.

The calendar also includes The Coffis Brothers’ “Coffis Plays Petty” with AC Sapphire on October 23, a Halloween Ball with Soul Ska and DJ Troubleman on October 31, and Etana with DJ Sep on November 1. Vinyl’s Annual Black Wednesday Bash brings the funk November 25.

For a different window into music history, photographer Henry Diltz presents Behind The Lens on November 5, a slideshow and storytelling experience exploring the photographs that made music history, told by the man who took them.

Free community gatherings remain part of the mix. Marin Bluegrass Sessions returns October 25 and November 22 for afternoon open jams, while the Mill Valley Library’s Halloween Sing & Stomp welcomes families October 31. The venue’s fifth annual fall gala features St. Vincent on October 22.
