Khruangbin and Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré share “Tongo Barra” today, a new preview from their collaborative album Ali honoring Vieux’s late father, the great Ali Farka  Touré, out September 23rd on Dead Oceans in partnership with Night Time Stories Ltd. “Tongo Barra'' is an engrossing, nearly six-minute cornerstone of Ali sung in the Malian Songhai dialect, following the album’s beguiling lead single “Savanne.”

This Labor day the Surf Hotel will host internationally acclaimed folk musicians Rising Appalachia to The LAWN. Rising Appalachia performed in the Ivy Ballroom to a nearly sold-out crowd in 2019, however, this will be the band's debut performance on The LAWN. The holiday concert will include two shows with the supporting band Birds of Play opening.

Acclaimed fine art photographer, video director and visual artist Anna Gabriel will release EYE-D on October 6 on ACC Art Books. The book is a series of extreme close-up photographs that focus the man-made lens on the human one to showcase the fact that connections, emotions, sublanguage, healing – all flow between us via the eyes. Some famous eyes featured in the book include: Mick Fleetwood, Johnny Depp, Eddie Vedder, David Byrne, Paul Simon, Annie Lennox, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Susan Sarandon, Kevin Bacon, Michael Stipe, Bon Iver, Nile Rodgers, Debbie Harry and many, many more.

With just over two weeks to go until the return of Bourbon & Beyond, festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents has announced the culinary and bourbon experience schedule, along with music set times, additional onsite entertainment, plus unique food offerings for the World’s Largest Bourbon & Music Festival, September 15-18 at Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
