New Single “Ain’t No Marks,” arrives June 5
Aaron Skiles will release his new album, ANGELS, DEMONS & COIN FLIPS, in August 2026. The 10-song record was co-produced by Skiles and Josh Jové, who also engineered the album and plays lead guitar throughout.
Jové is known for his work with Eagles of Death Metal, The Shelters, and as a touring and recording guitarist with Social Distortion. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and the California desert, and was mastered by Colin Christian.
Described as “Heavy Country Weezer,” the record blends indie rock and Americana with crunchy guitars, backing vocals, and catchy choruses. Skiles cites touchstones including Social Distortion, Pixies, Weezer, and Green Day as part of the album’s broader sound.
The first single, “Ain’t No Marks,” arrives June 5. A melodic ode to living life on the edge, the song looks at close calls, perspective, and the role a little luck can play in getting by. A second single, “Maybe It’s Alright,” is set for July 10.
ANGELS, DEMONS & COIN FLIPS follows Skiles’ previous solo work and his earlier music with Bourbon Therapy. Between those projects, the upcoming album marks his fifth full-length release. His first solo album, Wreckage From The Fire, was produced by Matt Patton of Drive-By Truckers and featured lead guitar from Taylor Hollingsworth of Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band and Dead Fingers. His second solo album, Whistle Past the Grave, was co-produced with Bay Area musician and engineer Ben Bernstein.
The new album includes “Ain’t No Marks,” “We Bat Last,” “Maybe It’s Alright,” “Nothing Pure,” “The Same,” “Down A Notch,” “Johnny,” “Green Eyes,” “Think It Over,” and “Broken Pieces.”
ANGELS, DEMONS & COIN FLIPS is due in August 2026.
