Alastair Moock Marks 25 Years at Club Passim

Award-winning Boston singer-songwriter Alastair Moock will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his Pastures of Plenty concert series with two special performances at Club Passim on Saturday, November 8, at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Since its launch in 2000, Pastures of Plenty has become an annual tradition, bringing together an all-star lineup of musicians to swap songs, test out new material, and share ideas live on stage. This year’s anniversary shows will feature a stellar group of local and national talent, including Merrie Amsterburg, Mark Erelli, Sean Staples, and Paul Kochanski, along with a few special surprise guests. Tickets are available now at passim.org.

“When I started Pastures of Plenty, the idea was to bridge some of the gaps I saw in the Boston music scene — between folk and roots rock, between the contemporary and traditional, between younger and older players,” said Moock. “But really, it was about bringing together great songwriters and musicians to share tunes on a stage.”

Moock continued, “Passim has been my musical home since I arrived in Boston in 1995. I grew up on that stage. I can remember watching the old-timers and feeling like they’d been there forever. Now I’m one of them. I’m looking forward to celebrating with old friends — we’ll play some old tunes, some new ones, and pay tribute to some who’ve moved along. We’re gonna turn that stage into a porch for the evening: creaky and warm. It’s gonna be sweet.”

Alastair Moock is an award-winning singer-songwriter, a Grammy-nominated family musician, and a social justice and songwriting educator for all ages. He’s also the co-founder of The Opening Doors Project, an anti-racist music organization. Moock has toured throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia, performing at renowned events including the Newport Folk Festival and Scotland’s Celtic Connections.
