Ever since the first Dark Star Orchestra performance on November 11, 1997, the band’s historical show recreations have always been about continuing the spirit and musical offerings of The Grateful Dead. With more than 3100 performances since that autumn evening in Chicago at Martyr’s, DSO will bring the celebration back to the town where it all began, as the calendar tilts towards a quarter century of music, memories and community.

The Fall Tour kicks off in Minneapolis, heads to Milwaukee for a pair of shows before rolling into Chicago for a performance in the town of the band’s genesis at the Vic Theatre on 11/11. The tour winds through the Midwest, stopping at familiar and favorite venues alike. Tickets on sale this Friday, September 16 at 10 AM local time.

While the 25th year of live DSO shows notches a huge milestone for the band, also happening this week is the kick off of the band’s Europe ‘72 50th Anniversary Tour as they headline a nine-show run across the continent in honor of the Dead’s legendary romp across the pond. Shows in England, France, Germany and Italy will broaden the global Deadhead experience, some for the first time ever.

Foreign lands are familiar to the group as the 10th DSO’s Jamaican Jam in the Sand event happens January 10 to 13, 2023 in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. Returning to the Jewel Paradise Cove’s familiar beaches, hundreds of fans gather oceanside for four nights of music and celebration under the stars and palm trees, an easy going venue for the dead of winter.
