Bill Scorzari Releases Sidereal Days (Day 1)

New York-based singer-songwriter, recording artist, and performer Bill Scorzari independently releases his fifth studio album, Sidereal Days (Day 1), today, October 17, 2025. This is the first installment of a two-part project, with Sidereal Days (Day 2) to follow in 2026.

Scorzari has long been known for his emotionally charged songwriting, vivid imagery, and distinctive, gravel-worn voice. His work has drawn comparisons to Sam Baker, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, and Chris Stapleton. As Acoustic Guitar wrote, “He catapults past categories into a dark, ruminative, and ultimately life-affirming realm where family folklore, memories, pain, prayer, and incantation meet.”

About Sidereal Days (Day 1)

The ten songs on Sidereal Days (Day 1) are wide-ranging and deeply personal—songs of love, regret, loss, and rediscovery. Some came quickly; others took years to complete. Each track is grounded in lyrical honesty and dynamic arrangements that balance simplicity with emotional depth.

Scorzari recorded and performed much of the instrumentation himself at his First Thunder Recording studio in Huntington, NY, before finishing the album at Skinny Elephant Recording in Nashville with engineer Dylan Alldredge, co-producer Neilson Hubbard, and an accomplished supporting cast that includes Brad Talley (Dobro), Chelsea McGough (cello), The Shoals Sisters (backing vocals), Danny Mitchell (piano, Hammond B3), Eamon McLoughlin (fiddle), Joshua Britt (mandolin), Juan Solorzano (guitars, pedal steel), Megan McCormick (harmony vocals), Michael Rinne (bass), and Neilson Hubbard (drums, percussion).

Final mixes were completed by Nic Coolidge at Dead Pop Studios (Providence, RI), and mastering was handled by Hallie Melton in Nashville in April 2025. Album and lyric book design by Anna Berman.

The Meaning Behind Sidereal Days

“A ‘sidereal day’ is the time it takes the Earth to rotate once relative to the fixed stars,” explains Scorzari. “It’s slightly shorter than a solar day. I liked the idea of something returning to where it had been before, which felt fitting for revisiting earlier songs and themes that have come back around.”

About Bill Scorzari

Born in New York and based on Long Island, Scorzari made a remarkable midlife transition from New York trial lawyer to full-time musician. Inspired by a Paste session of Justin Townes Earle’s “Mama’s Eyes” in 2008, he began writing again, eventually releasing a series of acclaimed independent albums: Just the Same (2014), Through These Waves (2017), Now I’m Free (2019), The Crosswinds of Kansas (2022), and now Sidereal Days (Day 1).
