Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival gets underway this week with what promises to be the most original and inclusive festival experience of the year, anywhere in the world. Bonnaroo 2022 takes place June 16-19, 2022 on the Bonnaroo Farm, located just 60 miles southeast of Nashville in Manchester, TN. Bonnaroo 2022 will present a wide-ranging bill featuring a spectacular selection of top artists performing around the clock across more than 10 unique stages over the four-day festival. Highlights include performances by Tool, J. Cole, Stevie Nicks, The Chicks, Machine Gun Kelly, Roddy Ricch, 21 Savage, Billy Strings, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, $uicideboy$, and Porter Robinson. Among Bonnaroo’s greatest traditions is the annual SuperJam, gathering an all-star lineup for a once-in-a-lifetime musical event unlike any other. Set for Saturday, June 18 in the This Tent, SuperJam: Jack Antonoff’s 1984 is anticipated to be among the biggest and best ever, celebrating what is without question one of the most momentous years in pop music history.
“I was born in 1984,” the 6x GRAMMY® Award-winning musician/producer/songwriter recently told The What Podcast. “It’s one of these crazy weird years in music where there was just this amazing cross-section of things happening, all these different genres hitting the world at the same time. We have all these insane special guests and we’re going to play a ton of music from that year. It’s going to be really special!”
Bonnaroo 2022 will also see festivities continuing throughout the night with a stacked After-Hours lineup performing in Centeroo on the main stages and tents starting at 12:00 pm (midnight) or later. After Hours artists include Illenium, Goose, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Denzel Curry, Flume, 100 gecs, Marc Rebillet, Sons of Kemet, Sidepiece, Role Model, Goth Babe, Andy Frasco & The UN, VNSSA, Lane 8, LP Giobbi, Chris Lake, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Nora En Pure, and more, along with dance parties, parades, secret shows, and much more.
The forecast is looking hot, we encourage Bonnaroovians to follow the Bonnaroovian code for a fun weekend. Fans should come equipped with a reusable water bottle to refill at free hydrations stations all weekend long, wear light clothing and hats, use plenty of sunscreen, bring battery-powered personal fans, grab a pop-up canopy tent for campsites and remember to take breaks in the shade regularly and get plenty of rest. Bonnaroovians will find more shade, misting, and cooling solutions throughout Centeroo and at every Plaza than ever before, and should take advantage of the fun ways to cool off such as a walk through Where In The Woods, a ride on the Big Ass Water Slide and a fresh cool-off at the Bonnaroo Fountain.
As always, Bonnaroo will boast a delectable and delicious assembling of food and drink vendors, showcasing a myriad of options – from kabobs, corndogs, and coffee to BBQ, burritos, and beyond – sure to please even the most discerning omnivore or vegan palate. Set for Saturday, June 18, the Eighth 1st Annual Roo Runs on Dunkin’ 5k invites all Bonnaroo Attendees to run across the Farm with all proceeds supporting the Bonnaroo Works Fund. Bonnaroovians can gear up for their run with custom sweatbands, t-shirts, and other Roo Runs on Dunkin’ swag, with costumes, creativity, and flair of all kinds encouraged. Ribbons will be awarded to top finishers and medals presented for a variety of victories. In addition, Roo Runs on Dunkin’ 5k tank tops will be distributed and all finishers will get to cool down with Dunkin’ Iced Coffee and Munchkins after crossing the finish line. Bonnaroo Attendees will be able to make their way around the Farm via JamTrak (powered by Allegiant), a convenient and free transportation option running throughout the campground, available all day and night, with multiple routes and stops along the way. JamTrak works much like any big-city bus or subway system, driving on a predetermined route and allowing riders to hop on or off only at designated locations. Bonnaroo, in looking for new ways to educate and inspire positive change, has once again affirmed its place as a leader in social innovation with Planet Roo’s non-profit partners and programming. Curated by the Bonnaroo Works Fund, Planet Roo is a haven for award-winning sustainability and global consciousness where patrons can explore non-profits, come together for classes, workshops at The Academy and Learning Garden, or panels at The How Stage to listen to thought-provoking interviews and learn how to change the world.
