Bootsy Collins releases funky holiday single "Boot-A-Claus/Here 4-A-Reason"

Legendary funk musician, bassist and composer Bootsy Collins releases “Boot-A-Claus / Here 4-A-Reason”, a funky and infectious holiday single featuring stalwart members of Bootsy’s talented network including Fantaazma, Baby Triggy, Gary “G7” Jenkins, and Dreion. The single is a celebration and continuation of Bootsy’s Funk Not Fight mission, which aims to unify and spread peace through the power of music.  Watch the accompanying music video for “Boot-A-Claus / Here 4-A-Reason” here, released today.
 
Says Bootsy of this new holiday single and season, “We call this A-Boot-A-Claus Christmas Celebration. We look at this as being the Power of the One. No Matter what or who you believe in we come together as 1.”

This holiday single comes after Bootsy’s recent announcement of Funk Not Fight, a forthcoming compilation album and ongoing project, whose message is to promote peace, reduce violence and unrest in disproportionately affected communities,  and spread joy through the power of music.
 
The Funk Not Fight album, set for release in 2023, will feature emerging artists, rappers, poets, singers and instrumentalists who will submit their music to be featured on the album. They will join in the project alongside Bootsy and other established guest artists and supporters including but not limited to Lettuce, Buckethead, Zapp, Fantaazma, Baby Triggy, Syleena Johnson, Tommy Davidson, Hi-Tek, Deanna Brown, G7, Michael Dyson, Steve Lacy and more.
 
The Funk Not Fight project is in partnership with Bootsy Collins Foundation, Syncr, The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, Apple, Spotify, Tudor Games, with additional partners to be announced. All money raised will go towards initiatives that are in need of financial support, that are dedicated to helping turn the tide of violence and unrest in our communities. The official album release date and further details will be announced forthcoming.
 
Submit your music now via Syncr Music for consideration, officially extended submission date is Feb 22nd 2023. In conjunction with the release of Bootsy’s Xmas single, The Bootsy foundation and Funk Not Fight will be launching a series of competitions giving away various prizes to artists submitting their music to Syncr Music and the funk not fight album, including a JBL speaker.
