Cooking Vinyl has announced the 40th Anniversary reissue of Telephone Free Landslide Victory, the groundbreaking debut album by Camper Van Beethoven, arriving September 5, 2025 on CD and LP.

Originally released in 1985, Telephone Free Landslide Victory introduced the world to Camper Van Beethoven’s signature sonic collage — a wild, deeply original blend of punk, folk, ska, and absurdist wit. From the cult favorite “Take the Skinheads Bowling” to the Eastern European surf rock of “Balalaika Gap,” the album helped define the early college radio sound and left a permanent mark on the alternative music landscape.

2CD Anniversary Edition
The 2CD deluxe reissue features the remastered original album, B-sides and rarities, and — for the first time — 11 previously unreleased 1983 demos that pre-date the album’s release. This edition comes housed in a 6-panel digisleeve, complete with a 16-page booklet featuring new liner notes by founding bassist Victor Krummenacher.
