On Wednesday, May 18th at 4 PM ET / 1 PM PT, Qobuz Live, Qobuz weekly livestream series, and Rhino Records will present a panel discussion, Celebrating Mingus Three in honor of the late Charles Mingus's centennial, life accomplishments and body of work, and the re-release of his 1957 Mingus Three album.

The panelists for "Celebrating Mingus Three" include A-list jazz musicians and experts: Charles McPherson (saxophonist and Mingus collaborator), Sy Johnson (pianist and Mingus collaborator), Helen Sung (composer and pianist, Terri Lynne Carrington and Wynton Marsalis collaborator), Florence Halfon (archival jazz catalog specialist), and Zach Kirsimae (bassist, co-director of The Charles Mingus Institute). Ashley Kahn, NYU jazz history professor, will moderate.

The event is one example of Qobuz continuing efforts to super-serve music lovers, taking a boutique in a superstore world approach to music streaming, and placing a special emphasis on jazz. Previous events and partnerships have included livestream panel discussions celebrating jazz greats Miles Davis and John Coltrane, an exclusive Hi-Res EP release, The Q Sessions, in collaboration with Christian McBride and Mack Avenue, sponsorship of events with Montclair Jazz Festival and Juilliard, and more.

Celebrating Mingus Three will stream across multiple platforms (Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn), and will be available afterward for on-demand viewing. FB event here.
