Crucial Reggae Sundays Bring Free Reggae to Golden Gate Park in November

November 2025 schedule for Crucial Reggae Sundays : free, all-ages event in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

Crucial Reggae Sundays returns this fall with free, family-friendly reggae music in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Hosted by Irie Dole, Guidance, and DJ Sep, the beloved community series takes place at the historic Bandshell / Music Concourse (75 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive) every Sunday from 4:20 pm to 7:30 pm — with a full-day celebration on November 9 featuring reggae legend Pato Banton.

Presented by Illuminate LIVE in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, Crucial Reggae Sundays has become a cornerstone of the city’s free outdoor concert scene. Each week features an uplifting lineup of DJs, live performers, and community guests, celebrating the rhythms and unity of reggae culture in one of the most iconic public spaces in the world.

November Schedule

  • November 2: Jah Mikey (Jah MikeyOne Sound) with Irie Dole
  • November 9: Ubuntu Festival (“I Am Because We Are”) featuring reggae veteran Pato Banton & The Now Generation with Antoinette Rootsdawtah, plus Irie Dole, Guidance, DJ Sep, and many special guests — co-presented with Value Culture (12 pm–7:30 pm)
  • November 16: King Jam (Japan) with Irie Dole
  • November 23: Final session of the season with residents Irie Dole, Guidance, and DJ Sep

Crucial Reggae Sundays is part of Illuminate’s free music series in Golden Gate Park, which has presented more than 125 concerts this year on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday afternoons, plus select Saturdays, through November 23. Over the past four years, Illuminate LIVE has transformed the 125-year-old Bandshell into a hub for diverse musical genres and legendary performances, with more than 600 free shows attracting nearly 1 million music lovers to the park’s Music Concourse.

Bring your family, friends, and good vibes for a season-ending celebration of roots, culture, and unity under the San Francisco sky. All events are free and open to the public.
