Dave Matthews Band Announces Take Me Back Live From The Gorge for February 6 Release

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Dave Matthews Band will release Take Me Back Live from the Gorge, a landmark live album recorded in 2025 during the band’s annual Labor Day weekend at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington state. The weekend marked the first time ever that Dave Matthews Band played Before These Crowded Streets in its entirety in concert. A pre-order for vinyl and CD formats is underway at www.davematthewsband.com for the album, which will be available digitally on February 6. ATO Records will release the album on vinyl on May 22. See below for track listing.

As the sets unfolded last Labor Day weekend, fans slowly realized they were witnessing something unprecedented: song after song from Before These Crowded Streets, performed in sequence. For decades, Before These Crowded Streets has stood as one of the most ambitious and beloved albums in the band’s catalog — a record defined by its emotional depth, expansive arrangements and fearless experimentation. Hearing it performed in full, live, in a place as legendary as the Gorge, created a moment that many fans immediately recognized as historic. Released on April 28, 1998, and now certified 4x Platinum, Before These Crowded Streets was the band’s first album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

From February 13-15, the three 2025 Gorge shows will air for the first time on VOLTA. Fans can watch the Director’s Cut or take control with VOLTA’s multiview feature. Watch the full band, choose to focus on a favorite musician, or tap into the crowd’s energy – every camera angle is just a click away. See below for the schedule and additional details or visit Volta.live

Dave Matthews Band has headlined the Gorge Amphitheatre 76 times, but it was on Saturday, August 30, 2025, that the band delivered one of the most singular performances in its history. Take Me Back captures that night, the only performance of Before These Crowded Streets in its entirety, which unfolded over a 95-minute set marked by bold improvisation and renewed exploration of the 1998 album. The show kicked off with a rare set-opening rendition of Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower,” followed by subtle signals of what was to come in “You Never Know” and “It Could Happen,” before Béla Fleck & the Flecktones surprised the crowd with an early appearance on “#41.” The band then launched into album opener “Pantala Naga Pampa,” stretching and reshaping the material with expansive instrumental passages throughout the night. Fleck returned for dynamic takes on “The Last Stop” and “Don’t Drink the Water,” and the long-rumored, rarely performed album closer “Spoon” marked a defining moment of the evening. The band welcomed Jake Simpson on violin for “Satellite” and “Tripping Billies,” before closing the historic night with an encore that posed the question on everyone’s mind: “What Would You Say.”

This September 4–6, Dave Matthews Band will return to the Gorge as part of their summer U.S. headline tour. Supporting acts for the weekend include Stephen Wilson Jr. and Infinity Song on Friday, Watchhouse and Jonah Kagen on Saturday, and Jesse Welles and Sierra Hull on Sunday.

Kicking off May 8 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX, the tour will take the band across the country with scheduled stops at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL (May 29–30); Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, IN (June 26–27); Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ (July 10–11); BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, NH (July 14–15); Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY (July 17–18), a milestone run marking the band’s 50th headline performance at SPAC, and Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, CO (August 28–29), among others.

An online ticket presale for members of the DMB Warehouse Fan Association is currently underway at https://davematthewsband.com/warehouse.

General on sale for tickets begins on Friday, February 20, at 10 AM (local venue time).
