WNRN’s Dead Air V will bring more than 20 bands from across Virginia together at the Jefferson Center in Roanoke on Saturday, August 22, for an evening devoted to the music of the Grateful Dead.
The rescheduled fifth edition of Dead Air begins at 7 p.m. in Shaftman Performance Hall. More than 20 Commonwealth artists will each bring their own sound and perspective to the Grateful Dead catalog for “One More Saturday Night” in Dark Star City.
The updated lineup includes Erin Lunsford, Tony Camm & The Funk Allstars, Stimulator Jones, Dylan Dent, The Brothers Young, Scott Miller, Tre. Charles, Chris Leggett, Erynn McLeod, Dogwood Tales, The Young Sinclairs, Father Sun, Claire Boyer, Colby T. Helms, John-Robert, John and Friends from Freak Rangers, Spectator Bird & Family, Pet Moose Project, Em Foris, Caleb Stine and C Burrows.
The show follows four previous Dead Air gatherings presented by WNRN, the Charlottesville-based independent radio station. Dead Air V continues the tradition by gathering artists from across the state for more than 20 interpretations of songs associated with the Grateful Dead.
VIP ticket holders will receive access to a reserved balcony section, a pre-show gathering featuring a special musical guest, food and drinks, and a complimentary drink during the concert.
Super VIP tickets include reserved seating in the first and second rows, access to the pre-show gathering, food and drinks, a dessert and snack bar, complimentary drink tickets and a behind-the-scenes tour of the evening’s festivities.
