Dead on the Creek Music Festival, the beloved event inspired by the timeless music and spirit of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, is back. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, this one-of-a-kind, intimate music gathering that started as a backyard hootenanny in a watershed has grown into a cherished Mendocino County tradition.
Set to take place June 11–14, 2026, the festival promises an intimate gathering featuring three days of mighty fine music, camping under the stars, and activities for the whole family.
This year marks a new chapter. Uncle John has passed the torch to Artemis Services, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing people together through music, accessibility, and community support—helping ensure the spirit of the festival continues for years to come. Artemis Services Inc. is an educational and cultural 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation of American improvisational music traditions, connecting communities across cultures, generations, and circumstances.
This year’s lineup features a stellar roster of performers: Terrapin Family Band with Stu Allen & Elliott Peck, BERTHA: Grateful Drag, the David Nelson Band, Jackie Greene & Friends, Moonalice, Stu Allen & Reflections, Old & In The New Way, Painted Mandolin, Hattie & Joe Craven, and the Hartle Gold Band featuring Sarah Ryan.
