Deadhead Jazz Fusion: Jazz is Dead Marks 25th Anniversary with Reimagined Grateful Dead Classics

Grateful Web is thrilled to announce the triumphant return and 25th-anniversary celebration of Jazz is Dead, the celebrated instrumental ensemble renowned for their innovative jazz reinterpretations of classic Grateful Dead songs.

Formed by iconic musicians such as Alphonso Johnson, Billy Cobham, T Lavitz, and Jimmy Herring in 1998, Jazz is Dead, with its evolving lineup, has continued to breathe new life into the cherished Grateful Dead repertoire over the years. Following a spectacular return to the stage in January, the group is set to commemorate their 25th anniversary with original bassist Alphonso Johnson, Steve Kimock, Pete Lavezzoli, and Bobby Lee Rodgers, performing unforgettable renditions from the Grateful Dead's 'Wake of the Flood' album, and more.

To further celebrate their enduring musical legacy, Jazz is Dead will perform ten shows in August, commemorating 'The Days Between' - Jerry Garcia's birthday and the day of his passing. The ensemble will then make a grand return in late November through mid-December for the 'Darkness Falls & Seasons Change' tour, which consists of 13 additional shows.
