An unforgettable evening at the Ryman Auditorium celebrating the past, present, and future of bluegrass.
The Del McCoury Band and The Travelin’ McCourys will come together for a special night, August 20, 2026, at the Ryman Auditorium, bringing three generations of bluegrass to one stage inside one of the genre’s most sacred rooms. Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Friday, April 17, at 10am CT. A limited number of artist and venue presale tickets will go live on Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15 respectively, also at 10am CT. Tickets can be found here: Purchase Tickets
For more than six decades, Del McCoury has stood as a cornerstone of bluegrass music, carrying forward a sound rooted in tradition while helping introduce it to new audiences. In recent years, that legacy has extended naturally through The Travelin’ McCourys — featuring Ronnie McCoury, Rob McCoury, Christian Ward, Alan Bartram, and Cody Kilby — whose own path has both honored and expanded the music’s reach.
At the Ryman, those paths meet. The performance is less about the passing of the torch and more about how that torch has always been shared — on stage, on the road, and in real time. It’s a continuation of what audiences have come to expect from the McCoury family: music that is deeply rooted, openly collaborative, and always moving forward.
“Jean and I decided over 10 years ago that we wanted the boys to be able to find their own sound,” shared Del McCoury. “And that's how The Travelin' McCourys were born.”
The Del McCoury Band returns to deliver the timeless sound that has defined generations, with songs and moments you’ve come to know and love in this historic room. Then, The Travelin’ McCourys take the stage, pushing the music forward with their signature energy, innovation, and virtuosity. And as the night builds, both worlds come together in a powerful, full-circle finale with Del joining in, honoring a legacy that continues to evolve.
That same spirit carries through to DelFest, the family’s annual festival held each Memorial Day weekend in Cumberland, Maryland. Built as a place where artists share stages, trade songs, and connect across generations, DelFest has become a living extension of the values that define the McCoury approach to music. This year, in addition to the McCourys, the lineup features Alison Krauss & Union Station, Toy Factory Project, Blackberry Smoke, Water Tower ft. Sierra Ferrell, Punch Brothers, Sierra Hull, and many more.
What will happen at the Ryman is part of that same continuum — a night where the lines between past, present, and future are played through.
