“Long Way Around,” written by acclaimed songwriter Larry Keel, leans into the kind of lived-in storytelling that’s defined Del McCoury’s career for over six decades. With an unhurried pace and grounded perspective, the song captures a life in steady motion, balancing work, reflection and most importantly, the quiet moments that tend to matter most.
“I’ve always tried to pick songs I believe in,” shared Del. “And this is one of them. It’s simple. Take your time and be thankful for the day you had. That’s enough for me.”
Along with the single, The Del McCoury Band continues a full touring schedule throughout 2026, bringing their enduring catalog to audiences across the country, including to his namesake festival, DelFest.
DelFest will return to Cumberland, MD this Memorial Day Weekend featuring The Del McCoury Band, the Travelin’ McCourys, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Toy Factory Project, Blackberry Smoke, Punch Brothers and many more.
