Dirty Heads Return to Colorado for Red Rocks and Dillon Amphitheater Shows

Dirty Heads are returning to Colorado this summer with a pair of highly anticipated Front Range and mountain shows, bringing their sun-drenched fusion of hip-hop, reggae, and rock to two of the state’s most iconic outdoor venues. Joined by honestav (June 25), Satsang, and RDGLDGRN, the Southern California mainstays will light up Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Thursday, June 25, 2025, before heading into the high country for a night at Dillon Amphitheater on Friday, June 26.

Since forming in 2001, Dirty Heads have carved out a sound that fully embodies their Southern California roots while resonating far beyond the beach. Blending laid-back grooves with hip-hop rhythms, reggae sway, and rock energy, the band has built a devoted global following while consistently expanding its reach across alternative, pop, and festival audiences.

Their numbers tell part of the story: more than 1.29 million digital track sales, 2.7 billion on-demand streams since 2018, and over 3.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. That reach exploded even further in 2021 when their 2017 single “Vacation” took on a viral second life through TikTok’s organically born #VacationTransition challenge, racking up billions of views and streams across social platforms and introducing the band to millions of new fans worldwide.

Dirty Heads began when punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (aka Duddy B) teamed up with rapper Jared Watson (aka Dirty J) to create music rooted in positivity and infectious groove. As Watson expanded into singing and the lineup solidified with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa, and bassist Dave Foral, the band steadily grew an immense and loyal audience.

Their 2008 breakout album Any Port in a Storm — and its 2010 deluxe edition — featured the Rome Ramirez collaboration “Lay Me Down,” which topped Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart and set a record for the longest-running number-one independently released song. From there, albums like Cabin by the Sea, Home: Phantoms of Summer, and Sound of Change cemented Dirty Heads as crossover veterans, with Sound of Change debuting in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.

In recent years, the band has continued to evolve while maintaining its core spirit. Their eighth studio album, Midnight Control, released in August 2022, delivered another wave of success, including a reimagined take on Joe Walsh’s “Life’s Been Good,” which climbed to #3 on BDS and has amassed millions of global streams. The album itself has surpassed 29 million streams and further solidified Dirty Heads’ staying power.

With their Colorado return, fans can expect a high-energy, feel-good celebration built on decades of hits, deep grooves, and crowd-moving rhythms — the kind of communal summer experience that fits Red Rocks and Dillon Amphitheater perfectly.
