Riding the residual energy from Phish at the Sphere earlier on April 24, 2026, the Disco Biscuits stepped into a sold-out Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas and delivered a performance that refused to play the role of merely an after party. Instead, the band leaned into the moment and shaped it into something distinctly their own. Marking their tenth appearance at the venue, the Biscuits moved with purpose across two sets, and maintained a level of intensity that rarely let up while emphasizing fluid transitions and rhythmic control. Drummer Marlon Lewis showed numerous signs that he has stepped into his new role with energy and creativity.

“Shelby Rose” opened with a mix choice that immediately stood out. The dry drum tone sat high, giving new band member Marlon Lewis’ playing a level of clarity that rewarded close listening. His drum and bass influence pushed forward, with intricate fills landing cleanly and driving momentum early. The jam stretched to 16:47, which established both patience and control right out of the gate. “Spacebirdmatingcall” followed with a noticeable jump in tonal depth, as Aron Magner’s synth work became more deliberate and layered than earlier shows that year. Jon Gutwillig’s guitar tone carried added weight, which improved his presence in the mix. The return into “Shelby Rose” landed smoothly, with a peak that felt natural and fully realized.

“To Be Continued” became one of the defining moments of the set, and extended to 20:28. This tune highlighted a tight lock between Magner and Lewis on the loop synth. Lewis expanded his approach with fills that added a fresh rhythmic voice, and locked in effectively with Marc Brownstein’s bass turnarounds which gave the composed sections added depth. Though unfinished, the closing passages carried a strong, cohesive groove. “Risky Business” brought the set to a breaking point, and pushed at an ultra-fast tempo that turned the track into a test of endurance. Lewis drove relentlessly, and the performance hit many tasty peaks. This closed the set with sustained intensity even as the composition remained incomplete.

The second set prioritized movement with transitions that rarely disrupted the overall arc. “Rivers” emerged as a twenty six minute centerpiece, and anchored the set with sustained momentum. The jam unfolded patiently, which allowed textures to build without sacrificing direction, before flowing seamlessly into “Rock Candy” and then “Munchkin Invasion.” That sequence formed the backbone of this raging set, and each transition landed cleanly while maintaining a high-energy through-line. During “Munchkin Invasion,” a brief tease of “I Melt With You" by Modern English added a light, recognizable moment without breaking the flow.

A well-executed “Waves” fake-out created one of the more reactive moments of the night, and briefly pulled the audience in one direction before pivoting away. “Fire Will Exchange” stood out structurally. This sixteen minute version presented in an inverted format. The shifted arrangement added a fresh perspective to a familiar piece while maintaining forward momentum. “Story of the World” closed the night with a sense of grounding, and brought resolution after a performance largely defined by motion and intensity.

The defining characteristic of the show was consistency. The energy remained elevated throughout. Transitions were handled with precision, and the band maintained direction even when pushing tempos to their limits. Lewis continued to gel with his new band mates, and delivered a style that expanded their sound without disconnecting from it. Magner’s synth presence felt sharper and more intentional. Paired with another standout performance the following night, this Brooklyn Bowl run reinforced that the Biscuits were not simply riding momentum—they were actively refining it.

The Disco Biscuits are back in action on May 7 in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico for two big sets at Viva El Gonzo. A three night stand at The Mishawaka in Bellvue, CO May 22-24. They head back east on June 12 to headline the Paramount in Huntington, NY. A two night stand at Levitt Pavilion in Westport, CT on June 13-14. On June 20, they perform in Canandaigua, NY, followed by a sure to be legendary set at Northlands.
