Visulite Theatre was unusually buzzing for a Sunday night as Dizgo rolled into Charlotte for a two-set throwdown. Before a single note rang out, the room was already alive—filled with smiles, hugs, and the electric hum of fans swapping predictions about openers and setlist surprises from previous nights. It was one of those moments where the strength of the jam community was on full display—friendships forming, reconnecting, and growing—and it’s clear Dizgo is quickly becoming a must-see act.

Before the show, we had a chance to catch up briefly with the band and ask about their recent travels and favorite moments on the road. Despite being spread across the room, they all chimed in almost instantly with the same answer: Jam Cruise. “Jam Cruise, FOR SURE! Hopefully we can go every year!” they laughed, as stories immediately began to unfold. We’ll keep those stories under wraps, but we’ll say this much—we won’t be missing another Jam Cruise.

From backstage to the floor, anticipation built quickly. After their pre-show ritual, the band took the stage to a roar of cheers and wasted no time getting into it. They opened with the sweet, groove-driven “Honey” from their album Melt, instantly setting the tone with a feel-good energy that had the crowd moving from the first note. They seamlessly transitioned into “EXIT 59” and then into “Right Place Wrong Time,” steadily building momentum as fans spun, danced, and locked into every groove.

Fully in sync with the room, Dizgo shifted into the reggae-tinged “End of Time,” driven by Justin Clark’s infectious drumming, Jake Evatt’s vibrant keys, Andrew Pickel’s smooth guitar work, and Kevin Hinnefeld’s deep, steady bass lines. With the crowd completely dialed in, the band took listeners on a journey through “Dreams,” before completing a perfectly crafted jam sandwich by returning to “End of Time” to close out the first set.

After a full set of nonstop grooves, both the band and crowd welcomed a quick breather—but not for long. In true Sunday-night fashion, Dizgo kept the break incredibly short, determined not to leave any jams on the table.

They returned to the stage without missing a beat, launching into a second set that felt like one continuous, flowing jam. Opening with “Help Is On the Way” from their 2021 release The Quarantine Compilation, they quickly moved into “Zagaz,” an electro-funk standout where Jake Evatt’s talent on the keys truly took center stage. His playing added a vibrant, dynamic layer that elevated the entire performance.

Keeping the momentum alive, the band flowed into “One Thing Leads to Another,” before diving into a nostalgic stretch with “On the Groove,” a fan-favorite from earlier Dizgo days that had the crowd fully locked in. They stayed in that old-school pocket with “Pink Gems,” a track that makes standing still nearly impossible as the entire room stayed in motion.

As the night pushed toward its close, Dizgo made sure to leave it all on the stage. They delivered a powerful pairing of “Brain Damage” into “Eclipse,” paying homage to Pink Floyd with both precision and intensity. To cap off the night, they closed with “Whiteout”—a standout that left the crowd buzzing and, as always, wanting just a little bit more.
