Doug MacLeod Releases St. Jude Benefit Single October 30

MEMPHIS, TN — Award-winning acoustic blues master Doug MacLeod has announced the release of his latest single, “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” arriving October 30, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Known for his soul-stirring storytelling and masterful guitar work, the nine-time Blues Music Award winner is using his platform to support the hospital's lifesaving mission of treating and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Proceeds from downloads and streams will support St. Jude, with the seasonal release intended to uphold the institution’s signature promise: ensuring families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. Further contributions can be made through Doug’s fundraising page on the St. Jude website beginning on Friday.

A Deeply Personal Connection to the Cause

For Doug MacLeod and his wife, Patti Joy, the mission of St. Jude is deeply personal. Since moving to Memphis seven years ago, the couple fell in love with the city and came to appreciate the incredible work being done at the hospital—a connection amplified by their own family's experiences with cancer.

"St. Jude means a lot to me, and I'd like to tell you why," shares MacLeod. "Our son Jesse is a two-time cancer survivor. He battled stage four melanoma and won. Even though he was in his twenties at the time, that didn't lessen the fear and worry that a parent feels when their child is fighting for their life."

In a remarkable family parallel, while their son is a two-time survivor, their daughter, Maddie Mae, holds a PhD in cancer research.

"Now, through this song, we hope to give back, even in a modest way, to St. Jude and the community we consider home," MacLeod says. "What better moment than this holiday season? From our family to yours, thank you for listening, caring, and helping us make a difference.”

Release Information

The single will be available on October 30 for streaming and digital purchase across major platforms.

Fans can listen, download, and support the cause via music platforms such as Bandcamp and Apple Music.
