Drunken Hearts release haunting new single “The Other Side” featuring Bonnie Sims

Drunken Hearts cross “The Other Side” with their haunting new single, set for release on November 14, 2025.

The Other Side” is a haunting meditation on the thin veil between life and death — a yearning to speak to those who’ve crossed beyond it. Featuring the extraordinary Bonnie Sims (of Big Richard and RIAA-certified Platinum project Everybody Loves an Outlaw) on mandolin and harmony vocals, the song channels an otherworldly realm, like a message carried through the ether.

Produced and co-written by Nashville hitmaker Dave Pahanish — who has penned #1 Billboard hits for Tim McGraw and Toby Keith — “The Other Side” is a heartfelt reflection dedicated to Ted Welles, Drunken Hearts’ founding drummer who passed away unexpectedly in 2014. The single finds the band at their most vulnerable and human, bridging the space between loss and transcendence.

Frontman Andrew McConathy delivers a weathered, soul-baring vocal that cuts through the mix with lived-in gravity, while Sims’ harmonies shimmer like voices from another dimension. The result is raw, soul-searching, and cinematic — tender yet unrelenting, grounded yet ghostly — blurring the line between grief and grace.

“You throw your voice out into the night, hoping it hits something — a ghost, maybe God, maybe just the wind. Either way, it’s all part of the same cosmic conversation with the unknown. We sing into the void, because that’s where truth hides.” — Andrew McConathy

“The Other Side” will be available on all streaming platforms beginning November 14, 2025. For updates, tour dates, and more information, visit thedrunkenhearts.com.
