Colorado-based Grateful Dead ensemble Easy Jim is carrying momentum from its recent debut at Boulder’s Fox Theatre into a run of Spring performances beginning with Belly Up Aspen on March 17.
The Crested Butte–born six-piece approaches the Grateful Dead catalog as a living repertoire built around improvisation and ensemble interplay. Powered by two drummers and layered three- and four-part vocal harmonies, the band delivers expansive performances that emphasize the exploratory spirit of the Dead’s live shows.
Formed in the Gunnison Valley in 2018, Easy Jim has built a loyal Colorado following through adventurous jams, tight musicianship, and a rotating songbook of more than 120 songs.
