Acclaimed pianist and composer Emmet Cohen brings a once-in-a-lifetime tribute to two of the greatest icons in jazz history—Miles Davis and John Coltrane—as both would have celebrated their 100th birthdays in 2026. The performance, titled Miles and Coltrane at 100, will take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Boulder Theater.
For this landmark concert, Cohen is joined by an all-star quintet featuring saxophonist Tivon Pennicott and trumpeter Jeremy Pelt, two of today’s most vital voices in modern jazz. Together, they will revisit and reimagine the groundbreaking works of Davis and Coltrane—from Giant Steps and Sketches of Spain to Davis’s electric explorations and Coltrane’s deeply spiritual later works.
This immersive performance promises to honor the legacies of two giants while breathing new life into their music, celebrating the fire, innovation, and timeless brilliance that continue to inspire generations.
About Emmet Cohen
Emmet Cohen is widely recognized as one of his generation’s defining jazz pianists and composers. Leader of the Emmet Cohen Trio and creator of the Masters Legacy Series, Cohen has emerged as both a bold innovator and a committed torchbearer of jazz tradition.
He is the winner of the 2019 American Pianists Awards, a finalist in the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition, and a regular headliner at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Village Vanguard, and Birdland. Cohen has graced stages at major festivals including Newport Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, and North Sea Jazz Festival, performing in more than 30 countries worldwide.
During the pandemic, Cohen launched “Live From Emmet’s Place”, a Harlem-based live-stream series that drew tens of millions of viewers, building a global community of jazz lovers. He has performed alongside jazz luminaries including Ron Carter, Benny Golson, Jimmy Cobb, George Coleman, Jimmy Heath, Tootie Heath, Houston Person, Kurt Elling, Billy Hart, and Brian Lynch, among many others.
A YAMAHA Artist, Cohen is managed by Bandstand Artists and represented by Epstein Fox Performances.
