Psychedelic rock juggernauts Futurebirds reunited with guitarist/producer Carl Broemel from My Morning Jacket on their new EP, Bloomin’ Too. Today, they are releasing their first single, “Buffet Days” off the seven-track EP, which is coming September 9th on No Coincidence Records

Recorded at the legendary Ronnie’s Place in Nashville two worlds collided building a sincere kinship and solidarity. Futurebirds’ Carter King says - “Carl is really in tune with what the band is and what it strives to be. He’s engaged and understands our vision…And it’s great to be able to defer to someone you respect so much with creative decisions in the studio…”

“Buffet Days” is part of the seven-track collection which sets the tone and meaning. The EP in itself is “a vortex of sonic textures”, says writer Garret K. Woodward. He goes on to say that this, “album ricochets from cosmic space, rock to rough around the edges, alt-country dreamscapes, sandy beach bum odes to kick in your step pop ballads — all signature tones and musical avenues at the core of the Birds' wide musical palette.”

Futurebirds is not just a band comprised of musicians Carter King (singer/guitarist), Daniel Womack (singer/, Thomas Johnson (singer/guitarist) and Brannen Miles (bassist), Kiffy Myers (pedal steel), Spencer Thomas (keyboardist) and Tom Myers (drummer) - they are a community, sharing their unique vibe and love for musical perception. King says it best, “We’ve been unintentionally carving out our own space since the beginning, since we never exactly fit in anywhere else musically. We were always too indie rock for the jam festival, too country for the indie scene, a little too psych-rock to feel like we were Americana. The music over the years just kind of created its own weird little ecosystem — it's thriving and it feels great.”

Futurebirds will continue to perform in support of their new EP as Special Guests with CAAMP on their July tour as well as a two-night run at Red Rocks in October. They will also be supported by Illiterate Light on their own headlining fall tour, full list of dates below.
