Yesterday, Goose kicked off the second annual Viva El Gonzo, returning to San José del Cabo for the band-curated destination festival’s opening day. After a private afternoon poolside set for Super Ted guests at the adjacent Hotel El Ganzo — featuring highlights including “Draconian Meter Maid” into Herbie Hancock’s “Cantaloupe Island,” Bob Marley’s “Caution,” and a fast version of “Echo of a Rose” — the band officially launched the weekend’s mainstage music with a two-set performance at El Ganzo Oasis.
The evening opened with “Bear,” a cover of The Shouting Matches, before Goose moved through “Same Old Shenanigans” and a shadowy “Dr. Darkness” > “Silver Rising” pairing. Cory Wong joined the band on guitar for “Mr. Action,” adding his signature rhythmic precision to the first set before staying on for the band’s first-ever performance of Jimi Hendrix’s “Hey Joe,” a fittingly electric close to the opening frame.
The second set leaned into collaboration with Stuart Bogie, whose woodwinds have become a recurring presence in Goose’s studio work since his first appearance with the band on Dripfield. Bogie joined for the full set, first adding texture to “Interlude II” into “Jive I,” then staying on as the band moved through Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue,” “Wysteria Lane,” and “So Ready.” His contributions gave the set a fluid, horn-laced feel, weaving through the band’s signature grooves.
Closing out the evening’s festivities were jamtronica legends The Disco Biscuits, who were joined by Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, and Cotter Ellis for a blistering 15-plus-minute rendition of “Helicopters.”

Viva El Gonzo continues Friday and Saturday with music running into the early morning hours. All three nights of Goose’s performances from El Ganzo Oasis are available to stream via nugs.net. In addition, the platform will showcase Cory Wong’s set on Friday evening, and performances from My Morning Jacket and Jim James acoustic on Saturday.
Later this month, Goose will cross the Atlantic for a much-anticipated headline tour of Europe and the United Kingdom, kicking off with a two-night stand at London’s Electric Brixton on May 22–23, 2026. Highlights include a two-night stand at Amsterdam’s Melkweg on May 27–28, a headline show at Paris’ historic Élysée-Montmartre on June 1, and a top-billed festival performance at Aarhus, Denmark’s NorthSide 2026 on June 5.
Goose’s momentum continues into the summer with an expansive North American headline tour running from mid-June through late August, featuring some of the most ambitious routing of their career to date. The tour is highlighted by a highly anticipated two-night return to Madison Square Garden on June 19–20, alongside a series of multi-night runs in key markets including Virginia Beach, Charleston, Raleigh, Boston, Saratoga Springs, Bend, and a culminating two-night stand at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on August 27–28.
Additional marquee plays include single-night stops at Merriweather Post Pavilion and Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, reinforcing the band’s steady ascent into premier venues nationwide. Select dates will see Goose joined by a diverse lineup of special guests, including Julian Lage, The Disco Biscuits, moe., Greensky Bluegrass, and Buffalo Traffic Jam. $1 from every ticket sold will benefit the Western Sun Foundation, supporting grassroots nonprofits in the cities the band visits.
