The Ohio River will once again pulse with sonic exploration when the Grateville Dead Music Festival sets up its storied “steal-your-riverfront” staging at Waterfront Park’s Brown-Forman Amphitheater from Friday, October 17, through Sunday, October 19. Now in its ninth year, the grassroots celebration welcomes Deadheads and live-music lovers alike for three crisp autumn days of improvisation, community, and river-view sunsets.
Three Days, Three Distinct Vibes
Friday ignites with Louisville jam mainstays The Pranksters, groove-heavy psych outfit Electric Garden, and Indianapolis tribute torchbearers Hyryder.
Saturday widens the lens: soulful songwriter Tyrone Cotton, family-band fun from Grateful Dads, bluegrass-tinged Nectar Valley, guitarist Mike Hood, funk-rockers Mr. Please, Louisville’s own Fatbox, road-tested jammers Roadie, and high-energy Dead interpreters Born Cross Eyed.
Sunday culminates with genre-hopping Inflight Entertainment, Americana duo Shannon and Katie D, Celtic-infused Awen Family, psychedelic-soul collective The Low Glow, Nashville favorites The Stolen Faces, and looping wizard Keller Williams, who headlines the festival’s grand finale.
In addition to the main stage, fans can expect late-night after-parties at the nearby High Horse Bar, interactive art installations, craft vendors, and a family-friendly lawn where children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. Proceeds will benefit local riverfront development and music-education initiatives.
Weekend passes, single-day tickets, and limited early-bird discounts are on sale now at www.Grateville.com. Camping and partner-hotel packages are also available. Fans are encouraged to secure passes early—last year’s allotment sold out in advance.
