Today would be Robert Hunter’s 80th birthday...we wish he were here to celebrate it with us.

We’re offering this previously unreleased recording for free download starting today, June 23, as a tribute to Hunter’s legacy as one of America’s greatest songwriters.

The song is unusual lyrically, with its classic Robert Hunter verses and contrasting emotive, plaintiff choruses. A love ballad of the highest order.

Renowned vocalist Sara Niemietz’ delivery of Hunter’s lyrics is sublime, with soundtrack master Snuffy Walden on guitar, Matt Malley (Counting Crows) on bass, keyboard virtuoso Ken Greene on piano, and myself on drums...recorded and mixed in 2016 by Matt at his studio in Malibu, California.

The song was a favorite of Hunter and his family.
