With production crews breaking ground July 16, the Hoochenanny Whiskey & Music Festival is just weeks away from transforming 14 waterfront acres at Camp Eastman into a two-stage, six-tent playground of spirits, songs and small-town charm. Festival hours are Friday 2-10 p.m., Saturday noon-10 p.m. and Sunday 2-10 p.m.
This year’s bill runs the stylistic gamut: Friday, Aug. 8 features Charles Wesley Godwin, Old 97’s, The English Beat and more; Saturday, Aug. 9 brings Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, The Record Company and Tommy Brunett’s All-Star Cavalcade of Scoundrels; Sunday, Aug. 10 spotlights moe., Dark Star Orchestra and Galactic feat. Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, rounded out by Eggy.
Food & Drink. The Barrel Bistro presented by OneDigital lines the midway with Compané Trattoria, Eat Greek, Ice Cream Factory, Jaime’s Dreams Bakery, Rio Tomatlán, The Sheffield Tavern, Swan Market, Swilly’s lobster rolls and Whiskey River Pub & Grill. Nearby, the 3,000-sq-ft Lager Land tent pours five free samples (additional flights $10) from 13 acclaimed breweries, including 3 Heads, Allagash, Jack’s Abby, Tröegs and Von Trapp.
World of Whiskey. Inside a 16,000-sq-ft hall, more than 150 expressions from 30-plus distillers—among them Michter’s, Jefferson’s, Stranahan’s, WhistlePig, Rabbit Hole and Black Button—anchor five themed zones: Rickhouse Rendezvous (NY distillers), American Whiskey Journey, the limited-edition Rarities Bar, Libations Lounge craft-cocktail lab and expert-led Fireside Chats.
Passes. Advance pricing (through Aug. 7) starts at $55 GA, $85 GA Tasting and $160 VIP, with one-, two- or three-day options. GA includes stage-front access, Lager Land tastings, the Artisans Bazaar and over 25,000 sq ft of covered seating; GA Tasting adds 20 curated whiskey pours; VIP layers in the two-story Skrewball-sponsored Loft with bird’s-eye stage views, private tastings, plush lounges, cigar bar, climate-controlled restrooms and free on-site parking.
