Chicago’s fast-rising funk / soul / jam outfit Hot Like Mars continue their upward trajectory with the release of Live From Brooklyn, a new nine-track live album arriving Friday, April 25. Capturing the band’s debut at the legendary Brooklyn Bowl on March 27, 2026, the release documents a pivotal night from one of the most exciting emerging acts on the national touring circuit. Mixed and mastered in-house by guitarist Frankie “Lightning” Minella, the album delivers a high-fidelity window into the band’s raw live experience.

“Brooklyn Bowl is one of those rooms with so much history, so it meant a lot to make our NYC debut on that stage,” said Pat Walsh (guitar). “We felt the crowd right away, and it pushed us to really lock in and elevate each other in real time. It’s one of those nights we’ll always remember, and we can’t wait to get back.”
Across nine tracks, the album offers a vivid snapshot of the band’s growing catalog of music that balances virtuosic musicianship with soulful, resonant songwriting. The setlist features seven original compositions, including fan favorites “Every Day Above Ground,” “Sumn’ Boutchu,” and “Don’t Get Comfy,” each stretched and reshaped through the band’s signature live lens.
The collection also showcases Hot Like Mars’ ability to reinterpret canonical material, with funk-forward takes on rock staples like Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” and Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower,” reimagined with the band’s unmistakable exploratory firepower. The album also introduces “Waitin’ A Long Time,” a previously unreleased original that hints at the bold and unforgettable next phase of the band’s evolution.

Heralding the release is a full-show video, released via the band’s YouTube channel. From the opening notes through the final ovation, the performance presents the undeniable chemistry, improvisational swagger, and deep-pocket groove work that have defined Hot Like Mars’ rapid ascent from Chicago standouts to a nationally touring force.
“The show felt like a turning point for us,” added Anthony Perry (vocals, keyboards). “Seeing people in New York singing along to our music was a wild feeling. That’s not something you take for granted, especially on a first night in a new city. It meant a lot to us.”
Hot Like Mars will carry the momentum of Live From Brooklyn straight into a packed summer run, hitting key markets and festivals across the Midwest, East Coast, and beyond. The stretch kicks off with a return to the Southeast, including Charleston Pour House (4/24) and Morris Farm in Barco, NC (4/25), before the band taps into the festival circuit with an appearance at Midwest Music Fest (5/8).
From there, the quintet threads together club plays in Charlotte, Asheville, Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Washington, D.C., along with festival appearances at Bonfire Music & Arts Festival, Into the Pines, Great Blue Heron, Moongroove, 4848, and Vibin’ in the Pines.
