Rising Brooklyn, NY rock collective ISTA return today with their psych-disco new single, “Up To Chance,” available everywhere now alongside an official music video directed by performance artist/filmmaker Alexandra Reisberg, streaming now on YouTube. The groove-driven track heralds the band’s eagerly awaited new album, In Sound To All, arriving on Friday, April 17. Pre-orders are available now. The band will play an album-release show on April 15 at NYC’s Night Club 101.
Recorded with longtime producer Sam Cohen (Kevin Morby, Rhett Miller, Curtis Harding), “Up To Chance” draws inspiration from classic funk and disco, showcasing the band’s spontaneous collaborative spirit with immersive rhythms, layered vocals, and dynamic horn arrangements. The song’s infectious energy is expertly conveyed through a whimsical accompanying visual that captures magical encounters with Chance, a playful puppet whose presence invites openness and joyous connection with various individuals on the streets of New York City.
“We really gave it up to Chance and got more than we hoped for,” says director Alexandra Reisberg. “Central to our concept was channeling The Fool tarot card: Leaping into the unknown and embracing whatever comes your way.”

PRE-ORDER IN SOUND TO ALL
Born from a bicoastal clash of energies somewhere between the communal vibrations of Ken Kesey’s lysergically charged Acid Tests and the electric atmosphere of New Year’s Eve at Studio 54, ISTA fuse a timeless array of genres – from garage rock and classic funk to disco, electronic, and punk – into a riff-charged, groove-infused, harmony-bedazzled sound all their own. Founded in 2019 by West Coast transplants Rex Costello (vocals, guitar) and Oliver Hart (guitar), what began as a Brooklyn studio project soon morphed into a full-fledged band rounded out by Evan Eubanks (drums), Diona West (bass, vocals), Chloe Golding (keys, backing vocals), and Dan Rico (guitar) along with an ever-evolving cast of additional musicians. ISTA swiftly earned attention for their invigorating sonic and visual approach and ecstatic live performances. In Sound To All now sees ISTA pushing their radiant musical aesthetic further than ever before with such multi-faceted tracks as “Gods In Heat,” which FLOOD called a “neo-psych blues-rock rager” and “a jerky tune built upon blown-out riffs and a backing bed of buzzing synths” in their video premiere feature. Other album highlights include “Low Fruit,” “Aim For The Heart,” “Megawatt,” and “Waves,” the latter of which was named among the “Best of 2025” by Los Angeles’ influential station KCRW. Equally inventive music videos, full-length live performances, and more can be found now on the official ISTA YouTube channel.
