New York-bred synth-rock band Jimkata has been pairing playful, buoyant melodies with weighty, emotive lyrics since its members - three lifelong friends - formed the project in 2005. The group notched nationwide festival performances and released a series of critically-acclaimed studio albums before taking a hiatus in 2017.

Four years later, the three-piece reemerged last summer with a renewed sense of purpose and unveiled their galvanizing new album Bonfires. The 10-track LP found the evolved trio stretching their boundaries with bold, intoxicating arrangements fueled by swirling synthesizers and anthemic hooks.

Now, Jimkata is ready to showcase Bonfires on a 8-date tour with stops in cities like Los Angeles, Denver, San Diego and Boulder before landing in Tucson for their debut Gem & Jam Festival performance. With a sense of rejuvenation coursing through the air, Jimkata fans can expect an uplifting and liberatory live show as the band celebrates the success of their new album and the unbounded joy of a comeback tour.

Bonfires is a bracingly original collection of dance floor-ready records that simultaneously feel modern yet classic, blurring the lines between the organic and the electronic as they reckon with doubt, struggle, and perseverance in a search for truth and meaning.

Each Bonfires track released alongside its own captivating music video, further depicting Jimkata’s newfound sense of freedom and unrestrained creativity. Fan reception has been heartwarming; with the album boasting 500,000+ combined streams, and the “Bonfires” music video garnering 100,000+ views, the troika has been delighted to reconnect with fans through the healing power of music.

The band performed their first show in over four years last summer at the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival, marking Jimkata's largest non-festival performance ever and drawing 1200+ fans.

For a group of childhood best friends who have been playing together since their university days at Ithaca College, that sense of salvation has only brought them closer together—and produced some of the best music Jimkata has ever written.
