Founded in 1960 by Joseph Shabalala, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has won more GRAMMY Awards (Five) and received more nominations (Nineteen) than any other World Music group. Their story is one of hope and perseverance; from the humble beginnings on a South African farm to becoming international stars through their powerful messages of peace and unity.

The group’s music style, isicathamiya, was born in the mines of South Africa and is performed with intricate harmonies and rhythmic precision. Their global recognition soared in the mid-1980s when they collaborated with Paul Simon on his acclaimed album "Graceland," which introduced their distinct sound to the world.

After Joseph Shabalala’s retirement in 2014, the group's leadership was passed to his sons—Thulani, Sibongiseni, and Thamsanqa—who continue to honor their father's legacy and dream.

Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the timeless music of Ladysmith Black Mambazo live in Boulder. Join the festivities for an evening that promises not only to entertain but to inspire.
