Boulder Theater will be awash in vintage Hammond tones and cosmic grooves this Halloween weekend when Melvin Seals & JGB headline back-to-back nights on Friday, October 31, 2025, and Saturday, November 1, 2025. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.; the show begins at 8:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 13 at 10 a.m. MT at Z2 Entertainment. Both single-day general-admission tickets (limited seating available) and special two-day passes will be offered. The concerts are all-ages (patrons under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).
Few artists embody the spirit of improvisational rock like Melvin Seals. Renowned for nearly two decades as the “Master of the Universe” behind the Jerry Garcia Band’s soulful, high-octane sound, Seals has spent more than 30 years channeling blues, funk, rock, jazz, R&B, and gospel through his signature Hammond B-3 organ. His playing helped define what is now celebrated worldwide as jam-band music.
Today, Seals’ namesake ensemble—Melvin Seals & JGB—carries that legacy forward with nightly journeys that balance tight songcraft and free-flowing exploration. The group features John Kadlecik on electric guitar and lead vocals, John-Paul McLean on bass, Jeremy Hoenig on drums, and Seals himself conjuring the familiar swirl of the B-3. Together they create an intuitive musical dialogue that turns every set into a fresh, psychedelic adventure, keeping dancers moving and newcomers marveling at the band’s on-stage chemistry.
