Members of Tool and Alice in Chains Team Up for Bowl for Ronnie Cancer Fund Benefit

Members of Tool and Alice in Chains are joining forces for the annual Bowl for Ronnie Celebrity Bowling Party on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City, California. Fans have a chance to join their team through an eBay auction benefiting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.

Tool’s Adam Jones, Justin Chancellor and Danny Carey have assembled a team with Alice in Chains members Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez. The winner of the auction will fill the remaining spot. Bidding ends Monday, November 2, at approximately 7 p.m. Pacific time; travel arrangements are not included.

The Tool team will face competition from event host Eddie Trunk’s all-star team, featuring Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler, Lita Ford, Brent Woods of the Gene Simmons Band and Chevy Metal, and recent auction winner Jason Allen of Reno, Nevada.

Tool has taken inspiration from last year’s first-place celebrity team, Yachtley Crew. The group is on the road this year and unable to return to defend its title.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with open bowling and a VIP pre-party for lane sponsors, celebrities and their guests. A limited number of spectator tickets are available for $75, while team and corporate lane sponsorships are available for $3,000.

The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund was founded in memory of the legendary singer, who died of gastric cancer in 2010. The 501(c)(3) public charity has raised more than $2 million since its inception, supporting cancer prevention, education and research. Previous funding has supported the T. J. Martell Foundation, the gastric cancer research unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center and other research projects.

Since 2016, the fund has supported Dr. David Wong and his team at the UCLA School of Dentistry in developing a noninvasive saliva test for early cancer detection. Wong is scheduled to present the team’s gastric cancer biomarker research at the Stanford Gastric Cancer Summit on December 7 and 8.

One hundred percent of the net proceeds from Bowl for Ronnie will go to the Dio Cancer Fund. The organization also hosts the annual Rock for Ronnie Concert in the Park, scheduled for Sunday, May 23, 2027.
