The latest in a series of live performance videos from Moon; Moon’s latest LP, From Here to the Sea, is out now on Compass Records
As the winter days slowly begin to stretch longer, small glimpses of the joys that spring will bring are starting to appear. Today, Canadian-born singer-songwriter Meredith Moon adds to that sense of seasonal optimism with a new live performance video, “Cindy” Live at Nicky Diamonds’ Barn. Captured during a summer collaboration with dancing fiddler Hillary Klug, the video is a treat for fans of Moon’s more old-time-leaning catalog, spotlighting a vibrant clawhammer banjo and fiddle duet on the traditional Appalachian folk tune.
“I was living in Nashville in July of 2025,” Moon recalls. “My friend Max Harms, who does The Garage series, was doing some video work in town while staying at our place. I had long wanted to work with Hillary Klug as we’d been in each other’s orbit for some time, and the timing worked out that we could do a couple of videos together with Max.” The performance was filmed in front of fellow musician Nicky Diamonds’ barn just north of town, overlooking the dense woods of Middle Tennessee, and follows several recent performance videos Moon has released over the past few months.
Fans can watch “Cindy” Live at Nicky Diamonds’ Barn today, revisit Moon’s previously released Americana Sessions videos for “Poseidon” and “Lulu Gal,” and stream or purchase her latest album, From Here to the Sea, right here. The live video premiered today via Glide Magazine, which praised the collaboration, writing, “There is a natural chemistry between Moon and Klug, but perhaps more importantly, there is a sense of fun that radiates from both of them, a simple joy in playing this classic tune.” For more information, visit meredithmoon.com.
About Meredith Moon
Meredith Moon grew up immersed in folk music, inspired by her surroundings and the legacy of her father, legendary singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. She has been described as a gem in both the old-time and contemporary folk scenes for her singular expression of the genres, blending folk-punk energy with traditional Appalachian sounds. Moon began writing songs at the age of eight and taught herself guitar by fourteen, later discovering her voice as a busker on sidewalks from Halifax to Vancouver. Years spent traveling across Canada and beyond—by road and rail—helped shape her storyteller’s approach to songwriting.
Moon’s third album, From Here to the Sea, produced by Colin Linden and featuring contributions from Jerry Douglas, Julian Taylor, Rebecca Lovell (Larkin Poe), George Receli (Bob Dylan), Lilli Mae Rische, and Dominic Davis (Jack White), was released September 12, 2025 via Compass Records. The ten-song collection blends folk, folk-rock, blues, and old-time jazz, further cementing Moon’s place as a distinctive and compelling voice in modern roots music.
