Midnight North, the Bay Area-rooted band featuring Grahame Lesh and Elliott Peck, returns to Colorado on Friday, August 21, for a night at Cervantes’ Other Side in Denver, joined by River Spell, Bottlerocket Hurricane and an Oakhurst pop-up patio set.
Formed in 2012 by singer-songwriters Grahame Lesh and Elliott Peck, Midnight North grew out of the fertile Northern California music scene with a sound that pulls naturally from Americana, folk-rock, country and the improvisational spirit that has long surrounded the Bay Area. Alongside Lesh and Peck, the band includes bassist and mandolin player Connor O’Sullivan and drummer, banjo player and vocalist Nathan Graham.
The Denver stop arrives during a Colorado stretch for Midnight North. Following the Cervantes show, the band heads west for the Terrapin Roadshow in Glenwood Springs on August 22 and 23, giving Colorado fans several opportunities to catch Lesh and company over one late-summer weekend.
For Lesh, Midnight North has long provided a musical home distinct from the many projects connected to the music of his father, Phil Lesh. Rather than functioning simply as another extension of the Grateful Dead songbook, Midnight North has built its own body of songs and identity through years of touring, recording and collaboration, while still carrying the communal and exploratory spirit of the scene from which the band emerged.
That balance has become an increasingly important part of Lesh’s musical life. Along with Midnight North, he continues to perform with Grahame Lesh & Friends and in projects celebrating and extending the musical community surrounding his father, while Midnight North remains an outlet for the band’s own songwriting, harmonies and evolving sound.
Cervantes’ Other Side should be an especially fitting room for the group. The longtime Denver venue has remained a home for jam, roots, funk, bluegrass and improvisational music, and the August 21 bill brings together several corners of Colorado’s own musical community around Midnight North’s return.
River Spell and Bottlerocket Hurricane will join Midnight North for the evening, with Oakhurst performing a pop-up patio set.
Midnight North performs Friday, August 21, 2026, at Cervantes’ Other Side, 2635 Welton Street in Denver. Doors open at 5 p.m. and music begins at 6 p.m. The show is ages 16 and up.
