The Mill Valley Chamber is announcing today the full music lineup for its annual springtime Mill Valley Music Festival, which expands to two days this year on May 13-14.

2-Day GA (starting at $219+) a 2-Day GA PLUS ticket (starting at $339+) and 2-Day VIP tickets (starting at $449) will go on sale to the general public later today, January 24 at noon PT via MillValleyMusicFest.com, although fans are encouraged to act fast as the initial batch of blind presale tickets sold out in advance similar to last year’s inaugural festival.

Attendees of all ages at this year’s two-day weekend celebration that remains chock full of music, art, and local culture will be treated to headlining performances from a pair of NorCal rock legends – Oakland-born singer/songwriter Michael Franti will be joined by his long-standing band Spearhead, while alt-rock pioneers Cake formed in nearby Sacramento.

New Orleans’ very own Grammy Award-nominated and former NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Tank and the Bangas will also grace the Mill Valley main stage, as will Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew’s REMAIN IN LIGHT, a special concert series featuring former members of Talking Heads; Seattle seven-piece The Dip; retro-soul revivalist Durand Jones; southern soul singer Black Joe Lewis and his multi-talented backing band The Honeybears; and Grammy-nominated Valerie June, a folk-soul singer known for her unique blend of Appalachian music.

Rounding out the 2023 lineup includes Oakland’s own African psych-rock band Orchestra Gold and multi-piece Mill Valley student residents The Alive – both of whom further the festival's commitment to supporting local arts and culture. “With a commitment to creativity, our team worked its tail off to create something new and exciting in this town we love. Overwhelmed by the massive response from our neighbors and Bay Area friends, I knew our team had to really raise the bar for 2023 and we couldn’t be more proud of how this year’s lineup came together,” said Jim Welte, director of the Mill Valley Chamber. “This new group of performers is sure to not only leave a longstanding impression on festival attendees but will also entice new travelers to visit our incredible community. Come springtime, we hope the whole Bay Area will make a weekend trip to explore and see for themselves what makes Mill Valley such a special and unique place. As an organization, we continue to champion our community’s multi-faceted arts & culture, while creating innovative opportunities to connect people.”

Following a successful inaugural festival launch last spring that sold out in advance, Mill Valley Music Festival will return to Friends Field, located adjacent to the Mill Valley Community Center, transforming the community space into a sprawling festival grove. The event will once again offer access to a large and curated assortment of Marin County’s best artisans, food vendors, and philanthropic organizations, plus family-friendly activities, immersive art installations, local craft beer, and so much more.

This May, fans from across the country can look forward to a weekend adventure in Mill Valley as they visit this charming hidden gem and Redwood tree-lined destination that is less than an hour from the epicenter of San Francisco and considered one of the most picturesque mountain towns in all of California while nestled below the slopes of Mount Tamalpais. This annual springtime festival serves as one of the city of Mill Valley’s signature events, drawing attention to the longstanding cultural contributions of the city throughout the greater Bay Area and driving a positive economic impact for the local community.
