Organizers behind Noise Pop Festival, San Francisco Bay Area’s premier independent music festival, have announced today the phase 1 music lineup for the multi-venue music festival returning as the week-long event returns for its 31st anniversary beginning Thursday, February 22 through Sunday, March 3, 2024.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. PST via www.noisepopfest.com, including festival badges and individual concert tickets. Badges grant access to general admission (non-reserved seating) access to every music concert, happy hour, and after-hour party throughout the weeklong festival. Fans are encouraged to act fast as the initial allotment of early-bird festival badges sold out within hours of each on-sale earlier this fall. As always, badge prices will increase with each new lineup phase announcement.

2024 MUSIC LINEUP

The initial lineup is led by a slew of female-fronted acts, each of which released new music in recent weeks, including Snail Mail, the beloved indie rock solo project from Lindsey Jordan, dubbed as one of the greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone, who just dropped a new EP, Valentine (Demos), last Friday; West Coast rock trio Cherry Glazerr, who released their fourth album, I Don't Want You Anymore, just over a month ago to wide-spread critical acclaim; and singer/songwriter/pianist Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter, who was formerly known as Lingua Ignota and just dropped her debut album, Saved!, only a few weeks ago while selling out a special pop-up show at Carnegie Hall this coming January as a lead up to Noise Pop Festival.

Festival alumni The Mountain Goats will return for their third Noise Pop Festival performance, following previous sets in 2008 and 2016, with 2024 serving as a special solo acoustic set from John Darnielle. Noise Pop looks forward to welcoming back the folk-rock band that in the past four years has released six studio albums, most recently with Jenny From Thebes released this October.

A number of internationally-revered performers are also set to perform including Ethiopian music legend and keyboardist Hailu Mergia; Peru-born, Germany-based producer/DJ Sofia Kourtesis; Italian electronic music producer Alessandro Cortini, arguably best known for his work as a member of the iconic band Nine Inch Nails and who will be presenting his new live performance installation “Nati Infiniti" at Noise Pop Festival 2024; as well as boundaryless British electronic music producer Actress who will perform a rare live performance of his cerebral abstract techno music.

In true Noise Pop tradition, the West Coast is well-respected in this year’s lineup with an expansive multi-genre collection of performers that include Thee Sinseers (soul, Los Angeles), Militarie Gun (punk rock, Los Angeles), Ultra Q (alt-rock, Oakland), Spiritual Cramp (punk rock, San Francisco), and Chokecherry (shoegaze, San Francisco), The Reds, Pinks & Purples (indie rock, San Francisco), and Stephen Steinbrink (indie pop, Oakland) among others.

SUPPORT FROM ORGANIZERS, VENUES & SPONSORS

For more than three decades, festival organizers at Noise Pop Industries have served as cultural arbiters and community advocates within the local arts community while promoting thousands of concerts and creating unique festival properties across Northern California.

Next February, Noise Pop will celebrate the 31st anniversary of the launch of the team’s flagship event, Noise Pop Festival, which regularly transforms the entire San Francisco Bay Area into sprawling festival grounds. Fans can once again look forward to a jam-packed schedule full of live music, art shows, happy hours, secret after-hour parties, and so much more - all of which will take place nightly over the course of a full week in late February.

Featuring some of the country’s most historic concert halls among other SF music venue institutions, Noise Pop has tapped the likes of Great American Music Hall, Bottom of the Hill, The Chapel, Rickshaw Stop, Joe Henderson Lab at SFJAZZ, August Hall, Gray Area, Kilowatt, Bender's Bar and Grill, and 1015 Folsom, among others to participate again, although Noise Pop looks to make its debut next February with several intimate concerts at the Grace Cathedral. Entry to all of these iconic spaces will soon be available to those who purchase full festival badges, in addition to ticket-buyers at individual festival concerts.

Noise Pop would also like to thank the creative contributions of Christopher Gale, more commonly known as Kidtofer, an artist and illustrator based in Oakland and originally from Bangkok, Thailand who is responsible for designing this year’s poster artwork.
