MOUNTAIN GRASS UNIT EXPANDS 2026 “DOG’S OUT THE CAGE TOUR”

Following a breakout 2025 season and their IBMA Momentum Artist of the Year win, Mountain Grass Unit have expanded their 2026 “Dog’s Out The Cage Tour” with a new run of summer dates, including marquee headlining shows, major festival appearances, and select amphitheater performances supporting Dierks Bentley.

The announcement follows a packed weekend at WinterWonderGrass and arrives just ahead of the quartet’s upcoming Australian tour, which includes a series of club headlines and festival appearances.

Colorado has quickly become a key market for the Birmingham-bred quartet, highlighted by headlining dates at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre in Bellvue and the Boulder Theater. Additional Western headlining stops include Casper, WY and Livingston, MT, further expanding the band’s growing presence across the region.

The summer festival circuit will include the group’s debut performances at Bonnaroo and High Sierra, along with a return to DelFest. Additional appearances include Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival, Under The Big Sky, Railbird and Rooster Walk. A highly anticipated date with multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated country powerhouse Dierks Bentley in Montana will place Mountain Grass Unit before an amphitheater crowd at the height of the summer touring season.

The expansion follows a year of tangible growth on the road. In 2025 alone, Mountain Grass Unit logged more than 75 shows, and sold out 29 rooms including Athens’ 1,000-cap Georgia Theatre and Charleston’s Pour House. Across Colorado and the Mountain West, the quartet has stepped up from club plays to theater headliners within a single touring cycle, a clear signal of the grassroots momentum building around their live show.

That rise has carried into high-profile support runs with Kitchen Dwellers and The Infamous Stringdusters, where the band joined several sold-out bills, as well as a trio of standout performances at destination festival Strings & Sol 2025. Later this month, the band will release Mountain Grass Unit: Best of Summer 2025, a limited-edition live vinyl in partnership with Relix Magazine.

“This tour feels like a big step forward for us in some major markets. We’ve been able to watch things grow city by city, and that’s such a rewarding bonus to a job that already brings us so much joy performing for audiences around the world,” said Drury Anderson.  “Getting to play festivals like DelFest and Bonnaroo, and jumping on a date with Dierks Bentley calls for a busy and unforgettable summer.”
