Nate Currin Unveils Heart-Rending Ninth Album, Ghost Town (Out August 1)

Florida/Georgia Americana artist Nate Currin returns on August 1 with Ghost Town, a road-worn exploration of heartbreak set against folk-rock, bluegrass, honky-tonk blues and shimmering cosmic country. Written in the aftermath of a massive breakup, the album chronicles a cross-country journey through sorrow and renewal—where every highway mile unearths memories that linger like ghosts in the rearview.

Over two decades Currin has logged more than 900 shows and 800,000 highway miles, occasionally living in a motorhome as he shared stages with Butch Walker, Neon Trees, Blues Traveler, Shawn Mullins, Alabama, Hunter Hayes and Jars of Clay. Ghost Town was tracked in Northern Georgia with Jon Poole and at Gray Matters Studios in Nashville with Matthew Odmark (Jars of Clay), who both co-produce and contribute on drums, keys, horn and guitar arrangements.

Highlights include the desert Western ballad “White Hills,” inspired by Currin’s own 40-acre retreat outside Joshua Tree; the escape anthem “I Don’t Belong Here Anymore,” born from his quarantine-era longing for the open Southwest; and the title track “Ghost Town,” a powerful ballad where once-vibrant places become hollow echoes of lost love. Standouts such as honky-tonk blues rocker “The Crying Wolf,” intimate duet “Let’s Stay In & Put a Dylan Record On” (featuring Peyton Parker of The Voice), and the reflective “Wild Heart” round out a record that is as aching as it is hopeful.

Currin’s songwriting has earned five International Music & Entertainment Awards—multiple Songwriter of the Year wins—alongside Indie Music Award and Georgia Music Award nominations. His earlier work has reached the Top 20 on Apple charts, and his song “Oklahoma” appeared on Showtime’s Shameless.
