Introduced on vinyl on Record Store Day this past July, Culture Factory will release John Hurlbut and Jorma Kaukonen: The River Flows Volume Two (CFU-01200) in all formats September 24, 2021. At the same time they are releasing a box set The River Flows Vol. 1 & 2 / The Complete Sessions, a CD package with 8 live tracks recorded one special evening at the Quarantine Concerts as a bonus disc.

Recorded last summer along with Volume One, this album continues along the same path. "Guitar maestro Kaukonen shares top billing with singer/guitarist John Hurlbut in a downhome session of remarkable six-string storytelling” said Sterophile and No Depression revealed "Kaukonen and Hurlbut view music as a conversation … What we hear in this acoustic marvel is an intimate tête-à-tête celebrating 40 years of friendship."

For the Road...Jorma is going out playing with Jack Casady (Hot Tuna), friends, and playing solo over the Fall.  Buy your tickets now as venues are providing extra space between tables often reducing their capacities. Mask up and come have some fun!

“It’s a celebration of great music, tremendous acoustic guitar work, and a close friendship...” – Goldmine

John Hurlbut and Jorma have been friends since 1984. After working together in the late ’80 and early 90’s, including shows where John opened for Jorma or Hot Tuna, their friendship solidified largely based on musical interests and shared talents. Being close friends and neighbors John and Jorma have done, and do, a lot of spontaneous picking together. Jorma loves to provide lead flourishes backing up John’s signature vocals and rhythm guitar. So, while “staying in place” at the Fur Peace Ranch Jorma and John were able to capture their friendship on vinyl!
