Framework announces Thursday Night Jazz, a new weekly all-ages live music series taking place throughout June at The Spotlight, Hollywood's intimate nightlife destination located next to the Dream Hotel. Designed to highlight Los Angeles’ local jazz community, the series will feature performances from emerging artists each Thursday night in a lounge-forward setting that blends live music, cocktails, and late-night culture.
Running every Thursday in June starting on June 4th, the series marks a continued expansion of Framework’s programming beyond electronic music. Rather than centering marquee headliners, Thursday Night Jazz aims to celebrate the live music experience itself, creating an intimate environment where all-ages audiences can discover rising talent in one of Hollywood’s most distinctive venues.
Leading the residency throughout the month is acclaimed young saxophonist Jack Lieberman and his trio. Lieberman, a 20-year-old second-year student at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, studies under highly prolific musicians including Clarence Penn, Bob Reynolds, and Vince Mendoza. In nearly a decade of playing saxophone, Lieberman has quickly emerged as one of Los Angeles’ most promising young jazz talents, blending traditional jazz lineage with contemporary influences to create a distinct musical voice.
Lieberman has accrued a growing list of notable accolades include being named a 2024 YoungArts Winner with Distinction in Jazz Instrumental, winning Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2023 Essentially Ellington Outstanding Alto Saxophone Award and Outstanding Doubler Award, and receiving the Grand Prize in The Music Center’s Spotlight Competition. Additional honors include the LA Jazz Society’s Shelly Manne New Talent Award, DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards recognition, and scholarships from both the Stanford Jazz Workshop and Idyllwild Summer Jazz Program.
Since opening, The Spotlight has quickly become known for its elevated atmosphere, redefining the nightlife experience by fostering a creative hub for music, art, and fashion. Blending the energy of a modern nightclub with the intimacy of a speakeasy lounge, the venue pairs design-forward interiors with a comprehensive mixology program, all meticulously curated to create a vibrant atmosphere rooted in elegance, sophistication, and live music.
