NEW ORLEANS, LA — Nolafunk has announced the first three shows for its 14th Annual Nolafunk Series During Jazz Fest, led by Medeski Martin & Wood’s first U.S. date in five years and first Jazz Fest late-night performance in a decade. The initial lineup also features the 5th Annual Daniel Donato’s Cosmic NOLA, with special guests to be announced, and moe. with Karina Rykman and J & The Causeways.
Taking place at the Orpheum Theatre and Civic Theatre in April 2027, these independently presented concerts continue Nolafunk’s tradition of bringing adventurous jazz, funk, roots music and improvisation to New Orleans during one of the city's most celebrated musical traditions.
Now entering its 14th year, the Nolafunk series has become a destination for music fans seeking memorable late-night performances during Jazz Fest, bringing together acclaimed artists, unique collaborations and the spirit of New Orleans.

Keyboardist John Medeski, drummer Billy Martin and bassist Chris Wood reunite for a rare New Orleans performance, bringing their singular combination of jazz, funk, improvisation and deep grooves to the Orpheum Theatre.
For Nolafunk, the concert represents a particularly meaningful booking after a decade of efforts to bring the trio to its Jazz Fest series. The band's adventurous approach to live performance and extraordinary musical chemistry make this one of the most anticipated events of the 2027 series.

Daniel Donato returns to the Civic Theatre for the 5th Annual Cosmic NOLA, an increasingly beloved Jazz Fest tradition celebrating the intersection of Cosmic Country, improvisation and musical collaboration.
Previous editions have featured an eclectic collection of guests, including Bill Kreutzmann, Grahame Lesh, George Porter Jr. and Branden Lewis, among others.
With special guests still to be revealed, the fifth anniversary promises another evening of musical surprises and the spontaneous collaborations that have made Cosmic NOLA a Jazz Fest favorite.
