Nothing If Not Announce Debut Album Gutter Gardens

Indiana progressive rock band Nothing If Not will release their debut album, Gutter Gardens, on October 30.

The 11-track album moves through progressive rock, psychedelia, folk and jazz, with three singles already available: “Isolation,” “A Flag Half-Mast (Still Flies)” and “Broken People Factory.”

The band’s live sound is built around an unusual setup developed by David Maginity, who handles both rhythm guitar and bass through a single pedal rig. Using an OC-5 pedal split to a bass amp, Maginity fingerpicks basslines underneath melodic guitar parts, an approach that originally came about because the band did not have a dedicated bassist available.

What began as a practical solution has since become a distinctive part of Nothing If Not’s live sound.

“Broken People Factory” is also accompanied by a stop-motion music video.
