Organ Fairchild Release New Album “BOOM!” Featuring Nine Original Tracks

Organ Fairchild have released their fourth full-length album, BOOM!, out now on vinyl, CD, and all major streaming platforms. The nationally touring New York instrumental trio continues its run of original material with nine new tracks recorded at Milan Hill Studio in the Hudson Valley with producer Justin Guip (Hot Tuna, Levon Helm) and mastered by Alan Evans of Soulive.

BOOM! follows the band’s 2024 covers release Songs We Didn’t Write, which debuted at #1 on the Relix / Jambands.com National Radio Charts. This time around, Organ Fairchild returns to original compositions, capturing the groove-driven organ-trio sound that has made them a rising name on the jam-scene circuit.

Guitarist Dave Ruch says the band approached the studio with a different mindset than the stage. “It’s always a unique challenge to bring this band into the studio because many of our songs will bloom into ten-plus-minute improvisational adventures when we play live. When we record, the trick — and the fun — is to condense the songs to their essence while still hinting at where they might go in a live setting.”

That balance shows up throughout the record, from the soundcheck-born opener “Westside Bowl,” named for the Youngstown, Ohio venue where it first took shape, to the Eastern-influenced “Sapana,” one of the group’s most requested live songs. “Waves of Daniel” pays tribute to late bandmate Daniel DJ Bonin, incorporating salvaged clips of his voice, while the title track “BOOM!” was inspired after sharing a stage with The New Mastersounds.

Other highlights include the groove-heavy “Yum,” inspired by moe. drummer Vinnie Amico’s cooking videos, “Valorous Boots,” a nod to the Fearless Flyers and Bootsy Collins, and “The Healing,” written on a brand-new guitar the day Ruch broke his elbow, then recorded weeks later when he was able to play again. “Easter Rain” blends Afro-Cuban rhythm with classic rock influence, and “Asleep in the Pew” moves through church-inspired themes before ending in a full-on shout-style celebration.

The album was recorded and mixed by Justin Guip at Milan Hill Studio and co-produced by Guip and the band, with mastering by Alan Evans. The current lineup features Joe Bellanti on organ and keyboards, Corey Kertzie on drums and percussion, and Dave Ruch on guitar.

Since forming in 2020, Organ Fairchild have built a reputation as a hardworking live band, sharing stages with Goose, Trey Anastasio Band, Melvin Seals & JGB, Andy Frasco & the U.N., moe., The New Mastersounds, Eggy, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Spafford and members of Tedeschi Trucks Band, while performing at clubs and festivals across more than 25 states and Canada.
