Orville Peck has announced the Man Turned Mule Tour, a North American run beginning October 28 in Sacramento and wrapping up November 22 in Huntington, New York. Nashville singer-songwriter Abbie Callahan will join Peck throughout the tour.
The newly announced dates follow Peck’s September 18 headlining performance at the Hollywood Bowl and include stops in Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nashville, Toronto, Boston and more.
Peck will perform at Mission Ballroom in Denver on Sunday, November 1. Tickets for the tour go on sale to the public Friday, July 31, at 10 a.m. local time.
The tour accompanies the announcement of Peck’s new album, Mule, arriving September 18 via Warner Records. Described as his most intimate, raw and ambitious work yet, the album offers a candid, chronological account of addiction, sobriety and a life rebuilt.
To accompany the announcement, Peck has released two songs from the album: “Prologue (Eulogy of a Man Turned Mule),” featuring Emmylou Harris, Noah Cyrus and Allison Russell, and the lead single “Too Little, Too Late.”
“Too Little, Too Late” is a raucous, dirt-kicking country-pop song that feels like pure clap-along freedom, while “Prologue (Eulogy of a Man Turned Mule)” sets the scene for the deeply personal album that follows.
One dollar from every ticket sold on the North American Man Turned Mule Tour will be donated to The Trevor Project, supporting its mission to provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people.
Fans can sign up for early access to tickets through the artist presale at OrvillePeck.com. The presale begins Tuesday, July 28, at 10 a.m. local time.
VIP packages will be available beginning Monday, July 27, at 10 a.m. local time. Packages will include premium tickets with early entry, an exclusive pre-show experience with Peck featuring a soundcheck viewing and Q&A session, exclusive merchandise and additional perks.
Orville Peck’s Reserved by Spotify tickets may also be available to eligible U.S. Spotify Premium subscribers through Ticketmaster in select markets. Eligible fans will be notified by Spotify through email and an in-app notification and will have the opportunity to purchase up to two tickets before the general on-sale.
Citi cardmembers will also have access to presale tickets in select markets beginning Tuesday, July 28, at 10 a.m. local time and continuing through Thursday, July 30, at 10 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program.
“Prologue (Eulogy of a Man Turned Mule)” is the scene-setting opening track on Mule, finding three generations of female country icons harmonizing lyrics written and arranged by Peck.
In the accompanying video, Emmylou Harris, Noah Cyrus and Allison Russell wear black veils and, in an eerie alternate space, nurse uniforms as they sing Peck’s would-be eulogy. It is a beautifully bleak ending that ultimately represents a beginning.
Peck’s fourth full-length album unfolds as a chronological timeline of the year that reshaped his life, tracing the collapse of addiction, the difficult pursuit of sobriety and the slow, often uncertain process of rebuilding.
Told with unflinching honesty, humor and compassion, Mule finds Peck confronting love, loss and identity through songs that move fluidly between classic country storytelling, bluegrass and expansive Americana.
“Too Little, Too Late” comes from the redemptive second half of the album and finds Peck dancing toward the finish line.
Produced by Jay Joyce, whose credits include Patty Griffin and Eric Church, the song was written by Peck with Dan Wilson and Steve Rusch. The track captures the feeling of finally becoming secure in who you are while also addressing the moment an ex comes crawling back after you have already moved on.
“Ooh, they say good things come to those who wait,” Peck sings over a rip-roaring arrangement before completing the thought: “Too little, too late.”
The new music follows Peck’s acclaimed Appaloosa EP, released last November and featuring the soaring single “Drift Away.”
The EP capped a momentous year for Peck, during which he presented his seventh annual Rodeo in Pioneertown, California; completed filming for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, in which he plays the masked assassin Vega; and made his Broadway debut during a five-month, 128-show run in Cabaret.
Before that, Peck released his eclectic 2024 duets album, Stampede. The project featured collaborations with Kylie Minogue and Diplo on “Midnight Ride,” Beck on “Death Valley High,” and Willie Nelson on a cover of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other.”
Additional collaborators included Cyrus, Russell, Elton John, Teddy Swims, Nathaniel Rateliff, Midland and Margo Price.
With Mule on the horizon, Peck turns his gaze inward, reckoning not only with his deeply personal past but also with the divide between the larger-than-life persona of Orville Peck and the man behind the mask.
